The 1999 Kunming International Horticultural Exposition drew over 70 countries to show their best achievements in landscape art, horticulture and environmental protection. Many countries set up permanent exhibition halls there. Kunming has plenty of other claims to fame. It was a major stop on the Southern Silk Road. It boasts the country’s most diverse population of colorful ethnic peoples and such natural wonders as Stone Forest.

DAY01 HOME CITY - BEIJING
Board Air China transpacific flight from Vancouver. Cross the International Dateline. Enjoy your in- flight entertainment.

DAY02 BEIJING
Arrive Beijing in the afternoon. Welcome to the capital of China. Your national guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to 4-star Xinqiao Hotel with prime downtown location. (D)

DAY03 BEIJING
Visit Tian An Men Square, the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace. Dinner is followed by Peking Opera performance. (B/L/D)

DAY04 BEIJING
Full day excursion to the Great wall and Ming Tombs, followed by Peking Duck Dinner. (B/L/D)

DAY05 BEIJING
Whole day free at leisure. (B)

DAY06 BEIJING - XIAN
Fly on to Xian via China domestic airlines. Arrive Xian in the afternoon and transfer to 4-star Garden Hotel. Tour ancient City Wall and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. (B/L/D)

DAY07 XIAN
Full day tour of the Terra Cotta Warriors Museum, the Huaqing Hot Springs and the Bangpo Neolithic Commune Museum. Enjoy a Tang Dynasty Music Show after dinner. (B/L/D)

DAY08 XIAN - KUNMING
Depart via 3Q4282 at 10:35, arrive at 12:30 and Transfer to 4-star Kingworld Hotel. Visit West Hill Reserve. (B/L/D)

DAY11 KUNMING - GUILIN
Depart via 3Q4587 at 08:05, arrive at 09:20 and transfer to 4-star Park Hotel. Highlights of today’s tour are Reed Flute Cave, Fubo Hill and Elephant Trunk Hill. (B/L/D)

DAY12 GUILIN
Take a cruise on the beautiful Li River down to Yangshuo and enjoy a scenic coach ride back to Guilin. (B/L/D)

DAY13 GUILIN - SHANGHAI
Depart via WH2543 at 11:20, arrive at 13:05 and transfer to 4-star Ocean Hotel. Visit Jade Buddha Temple and the waterfront promenade, the Bund. (B/L/D)

DAY14 SHANGHAI
Full day guided tour will take you to Yu Yuan Garden, Nanking Road and a Children’s Palace. Dinner will be followed by Acrobatic Theatre. (B/L/D)

DAY15 SHANGHAI - HOME CITY
